Are We Belittling the Holy Spirit?

A co-worker on our job acts funny towards us and we know we didn’t cause that action.  A spouse comes home and changes the peaceful atmosphere.  A child is acting rebellious. A brother or sister in Christ has offended us.  The government appears to be more about their gain and less about the people they are suppose to serve.  A racial remark was said to us.  You find yourself changing jobs or that position you was comfortable in for so many years.  The thought of going back to school pops up.  You feel in your heart not to marry that person.

What are your reactions?

Do you cry out “why God”?  Do you say I’m saved but I gotta tell this co-worker where they can go?  Do we get all anxious over government matters? Do we say “but God”?  Here is another question, in doing such things, are we belittling the Holy Spirit within Us?

This thought process came to mind as I saw someone be blessed with home ownership and receiving prayer over their new home.  Part of me was happy for them, but another part of me had the “god what did I do wrong in my life” question.  Then I thought why am I thinking this way…can I be belittling the Holy One within me?

Think about Yahweh and who we actually serve!  This is what He reminded me of from the book Knowing God by Name by Mary A. Kassian:

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you. How much less this temple which I have built!  1 Kings 8:27 –shows God is NOT LIMITED to space.

For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night.  Psalm 90:4 – God IS NOT LIMITED to time.

Ah, Lord God! Behold, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for you.  Jeremiah 32:17 – shows God in GREAT CAPACITY.

Can you search out the deep things of God?  Can you find out the limits of the Almighty?  Job 11:7 –God HAS NO BOUNDERIES, HAS NO LIMITS.

Did you see that…what a mighty God we are serving!  We can cast even the foolish emotions we encounter from day to day to Him!  So why belittle the greater one within us.  Let’s make it our priority to surrender ALL thoughts, ALL emotions to Him.  We probably end up with a better day for it!

Stay bless.
